About
I am a writer and former reporter with eight years of experience covering humanitarian crises and conflicts around the world currently based at Financial Times.
I have reported on wars and humanitarian crises in Ukraine, Gaza, Afghanistan and Myanmar for The Economist and Byline Times. I also previously worked at the Centre for Information Resilience, Amnesty International and Action Against Hunger focusing on humanitarian crises and human rights violations where I worked in Ethiopia, Israel, Palestine, and Lebanon.
I also write blogs and book reviews, occasionally contributing to the Economist Espresso’s daily news briefing, and have written on a freelance basis for news publications. I have appeared on The Economist’s podcast, The World in Brief. I am currently writing my first book on Syria’s civil war — Without Tombstones: The Syrian Catastrophe.
